A line of children’s swing sets has been recalled because of breaking and falling hazards.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), in cooperation with Health Canada and the Troxel Company, issued a recall of Troxel’s Flexible Flyer Swing Sets Wednesday, July 11, 2012. The recall was issued after Troxel and the CPSC received reports of the set’s seesaw seats breaking off, creating a falling hazard.

The recalled swing sets were sold at Walmart, Toys R Us, Academy, and other specialty stores and online retailers. They were sold between December 2011 and May 2012. The swing sets came in 11 different models, all included swings and a seesaw with an attachment for bars or a slide.

The recalled models and model numbers of the defective products are:

  • Big Adventure (#41575);
  • Fun Fantastic (#41577);
  • Fun Fantastic II (#41578);
  • Backyard Flyer (#42003);
  • Backyard Fun (#42013);
  • Backyard Swingin’ Fun (#42023);
  • Windsor II (#42030);
  • Fun Time (#42124);
  • Fantastic Playground (#42126);
  • Triple Fun (#42544); and
  • Triple Fun II (#42560).

The model numbers are on a sticker underneath the top bar of each swing set. If you have purchased one of the affected models, contact Troxel and the company will send you a free repair kit.
